INSTRUCTORSHIP

As Tutor and Lecturer

My recent teaching duties were as a lecturer for Environmental Law at Grenfell Campus, Memorial University, and my students were from Environmental Sciences and Sustainable Resource Management. I have also been invited as either a guest lecturer or scholar for Ethics and Business Law at Grenfell Campus, Memorial University, and for Graduate Methodology at the Faculty of Law, University of Calgary.

Previously, I taught as an undergraduate student tutor at the Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, and as a graduate student tutor in the Arts and Social Science Department of Apex Tutorial College in Ibadan, Nigeria.

Beyond instructing my students, I have supervised their group projects, written reference letters to support their applications and facilitated their research publications. I still keep in touch with many of them.

I provide examples of some courses I have taught as a lead instructor below. I do not include courses where I have supported other instructors as a teaching assistant.

ENVIRONMENTAL LAW (SRM 4003)

Social Sciences, Grenfell Campus, Memorial University (2015)

On the recommendation of Prof. Gabriela Sabau, Memorial University appointed me as a lecturer (Per Course Instructor) to teach Environmental Law. As the lead instructor, I developed the course to focus on Canadian national and international aspects of environmental law. The course covered the applicable history, theories, legal regimes, principles and issues. The delivery was interdisciplinary (starting with the technical, economic, cultural, etc, foundation before moving into the law), bearing in mind that my students were from Sustainable Resource Management and Environmental Science programmes. I evaluated the course based on class participation,
group research projects, take-home assignments, an oral quiz and a final written examination.

LEGAL RESEARCH AND METHODOLOGY (LAW 703)

Faculty of Law, University of Calgary (2016)

Prof. Jonnette Watson Hamilton used my article on hybrid renewable energy policy, published in Energy Policy, as a compulsory reading and invited me as a guest scholar. I shared the story behind the publication, including the reports of the eight referees and my response.

GOVERNMENT

Arts and Social Sciences, Apex Tutorial (2012-2014)

While completing my master's at the University of Ibadan and also practicing law part-time, I worked as a part-time instructor at Apex Tutorial, a college that prepares post-secondary students for university studies. I taught hundreds of students. I designed the course and examined the students. Many of the students went on to top universities in Nigeria, including the University of Ibadan and Obafemi Awolowo University.

PHILOSOPHY (PHIL 101)

Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University (2015-2016)

As the elected Principal Liaison Officer of the Law Students' Society, I developed a student-run group tutorial programme at the Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University. I brought together
senior students with the best academic record to tutor first year students. The idea was to fill the gap created by the absence of the evening tutorial system which hitherto existed in the law programme. The students were divided into groups, and I assigned tutors to teach various courses.

I also taught philosophy in the programme. This was in addition to coordinating the programme.
